Ski Trip at Temple Basin

Like always, here is a map for everyone who is not from New Zealand.

Temple Basin is located dircet after Athur's Pass. It is a culb-skifield and so it is really cheap and empty. We (Tim, Jay and me) stayed there 4 days. At first we had to walk some meters up, but there is a goods lift which carries all your stuff up to the mountain. The disadvantage of this skifield is that you have to walk about one hour, the advantage is that it is empty and you have a lot of awesome powderrides.

We stayed in the middle hut on the map. After we arrived we changed our cloth and tried to use the ropetow. This looks easier than it is. I thouhgt I'm a good snowboarder, but there is no way to reach the top. I fall a couple of times out.

The construction is really funny. You have to throw an anchor over the ropetow which is connected to a belt. This belt is around your body (or ass) and you hang in the cable. After you reache ones the peak there is a nice view. To get a nice ride you have to climb a little bit up. This takes about one hour, but it is worthwhile.

I tried to catch the impression, I did some pictures of myself. It didn't work quite well. The problem was that I was there alone. This wasn't perhaps the best idea. I read often that you shouldn't do mountainieering alone, but if you are there and you see the awesome powder you don't know the word avalanche (I hope my mom won't see this pictures).

And here are the pictures of the powderruns (hey guys from Germany, do you want to come around and have some fun).

The small black point is a guy from Canada, I met him there. We had a lot of fun. He worked as an skipatrol and so he knew where to go.

I was happy when I was back.

After that you could see a nice sunset.
