The steep section down to the Bergschrund - and it got cloudy on the top...

Some time later, half way down: After the steep section, Martin said good bye - he is way faster than we are and he had to hike all the way back to the car. The snow was suddenly really slushy and it was hard work on the top to move without snowshoes (we had crampons with us). After we made it back to Mt. Atwell we had a big break because Seppel was starving. We were just lucky that we made on the top - thanks Martin! We would have turned around without you...

Me later on, almost at the end of the valley.

Later on at the Hut - we were happy to be back, after 12 hours of hiking and only one break. We hiked around 1600 meters of altitude!

Monday - we hiked back to the car. Seppel having a small rest on a fallen tree :)

After a few meters up again we knew it will only go down from now on - and sliding down in the snow can be a lot of fun!!!

Happy to be back at the car - and completely done!

I needed some new power: Ice cream...
