Skyline Trail in Skagit Valley / Manning Park

Heading east: I always wanted to go there for a hike, especially check out the area because I have heard that back country skiing is supposed to be good there. We got a ride with Andrew's new Hascort (I hope I spelt it correct), it is just a beast. It goes 200 (well, it could go but you are only allowed to drive 90).

The new Hascort

on the way

We got dropped of at the trail head. There were so many mosquito's, it was terrible. We were just running for the first 3 km.

After a while we could see some peaks but we were still quite low.

It was hard work to get up, about 1300m in elevation. Can you count the morsquito bites on my forehead...?

more peaks became visible

The Cascades

the view got better and better

Kerstin hiking along the path

almost at the top

View down to Russet Lake, 1300m lower. The US-Canada border is going across the lake.

at the camp: I am hungry!!!

nice warm fire

And that was the aim for the next day:

next day, hike on Goat Peak and Hozameen Ridge
