Skiing to Burton Hut
I did that hike one year ago. At this time I thought it was hard because I did it in the middle of the night, now I recognized that it is not an easy hike (15 km, 9 km uphill and 6 km of lake crossing). It took us about 6.5 hours.
Malcolm (the black dot) crossing the Garibaldi Lake

Sphinx bay, the end of the lake is our aim. That is where the hut is.

Me infront of the hut. Can you see the hut?

The hut was renovated last summer so now it is nice and warm.

I got a new down jacket. I really liked it even if it wasn't really necessary to have one.

Next morning: sunrise behind the mountains

Still fog on the lake.

We didn't do any skiing around the hut. The snow wasn't great and we were quite tired. I think I was a little bit sick.
On the way out, looking back to the Sphinx bay and the hut.

On the lake.

That's where we have to go.

The skiing out wasn't easy. We hit a couple of times the ground, but never a tree. The forest was quite impressive, Coast Mountains.

Malcolm skiing out.
