Snow pit on Seymour Mountain
Originally we planed to go away for the weekend. But since the avalanche danger was really high we decided to stay in town. We still wanted to get out so we drove up on Seymour Mountain and dug a snow pit to have a look at the snow profile. There where 120 cm new snow in the last 3 days, just insane. The total snow depth is 5 meter.

We used the probe to find out about the total snow depth. The probe is about 260 cm long and we couldn't feel any ground. After digging for a while we still couldn't feel any hard resistance so we had to dig more.
