My first half marathon...
After the SUN run in April I decided to run once again. It took me some time to decide what and where, but after seeing the North Shore Half online I thought it is the perfect race to go with.
It was right at home in the north shore where we live and having the race in October gave me enough time to train for it. This was about half a year ago.
Just before the race, at 7:30 am in the car. The weather wasn't good at all - it rained!
After some instructions I went to the start line. One 'before the race' picture.
The start - unfortunately still dark... and wet.
Somehow my great supporter, Seppel, had problems to see me running by. After 500m he just saw me after I passed and at kilometre 4 he didn't see me at all and thought already the worst (that I gave up). Luckily he was just blind, probably too exited, and so I saw him the first time at kilometre 8.
Some more pictures of me running at kilometre 11 (two pics), 15, and 17.
And finishing...after only 1:52 minutes. My aim was under 2 hours - so I was more than happy! My official time is actually 1:51:47 since it took a bit of time to cross the start line.
After a view minutes, I got changed and had some food inside!
I decided I deserved a massage - great service from the race orga!
Later on at home, after having a shower, I fell asleep on the couch. Seppel took a picture...
