Duffy Lake Road - No.1 for this season
Since we plan to do Seppel's birthday hike her next weekend, we thought we should test the trail and check out the hut. Andrew and Josie came along - we had some good times! There was hardly any snow until the last small ascent to duffy lake road. I thought already we have to hike... :) Well, it is not a lot of snow but enough for skiing - that is what I thought at the beginning of the trip.
Andrew getting ready.
Me, happy to be back in the snow!

Not that happy because I had to carry me skies and I knew it won't go that smooth any more up to the hut.
Lunch break at the meadows. Josie and Andrew had a soup and made really jealous!
We wanted to continue. Well, we didn't start early (11am) and daylight is quite short at this time of the year!

A funny looking tree - nature!

We made it back to the car just at darkness. Nice day so although the snow was leaking at some points!
We stayed overnight in Pemberton since it is a 3 hour drive from Vancouver. We went out for dinner at 'the Pony' - really good food!

Afterwards we had some fun at our hotel room!

The next day we decided to check out one of Andrew's crazy ideas:
He heard about a hut close to Duffy Lake. So we found the trail head and started to get ready.

Sebastian ahead of me.

After some time the logging road became a trail and luckily we had two GPSs and old ski tracks to follow. Well, nothing can go wrong from now on!
Andrew following the tracks... :)
And we found the hut! Thanks to Andrew for the great idea! Well, we first planned to walk only on the trail for a bit and then do another hike.
We ended up spending our full day here and I would say it was more than worth!

The hut is right next to a lake - pretty nice!

Skiing out - the sunset is already coming...

Skiing down the logging road. Well, we had to walk quite a bit due to lack of snow.
Back at the car at around 5pm at Duffy Lake. Yes, it is getting dark early at the moment.
