Ski touring at Mt. Baker

The season hasn't been been amazing so far but that still doesn't stop us from going out and do stuff. The first day we toured around Table Mountain.

The weather wasn't that amazing but the area is pretty cool.

View down the southern valley.

Pretty nice natural formations.

Kerstin skinning through a wide open area.

There weren't a lot of others out there.

Kerstin skiing the first run of the day.

And here it comes, a nice untracked section. Pow!

Kerstin happy after an awesome run.

After the second run bad weather moved in so we called it a day ...

Going home ...

Since we stayed a night in Glacier (this is the ski town of Mt. Baker) we had some dinner at the local pub, a really nice place. Kerstin having some hot cider.

This was the place where we stayed, really relaxed. If you have time check it out, the breakfast was amazing, their web page isn't that amazing so www.wintercreekbandb.com

Next day we drove up to the ski area and wanted to skin up the hill. We got out of the car and it rained so we turned around and drove to Bellingham, a city on the coast between Seattle and Vancouver.

We went for lunch and had some amazing pizza made in a real wood fired oven.

We also went to REI. I thought about buying a skiing helmet for a while but never found a cool one. I think now I have about 6 helmets or so: 4 biking helmets (downhill, free ride, xc, road bike), 1 mountaineering helmet and one skiing helmet.
