Hawaii: Honolulu on Oahu

Hawaii! Well, everybody has heard about it and hence we always wanted to go there. Since it is not that far from Vancouver we did a 2 week vacation there. We flew to Honolulu on the island of Oahu where we met Regine and Uli (Kerstin's parents). Since we left after work we arrived quite late but not too late for a walk along the beach - Waikiki.

The next morning we woke up - blue sky.

Get some exercise in: We hiked up to the crater rim of a near by volcano (Diamond Head), Regine and Seppel.

From the top we had an amazing view.

Honolulu or better Waikiki, one of those towers is our hotel.

After we hiked down we continued our day trip to the Hanauma Bay which is quite famous for snorkeling.

I haven't snorkeled before. It took us a while to get used to trusting the snorkel but once you know how to it is pretty wicked.

After playing around in the warm water for about 3 hours we drove back along the shore.

Everywhere nice beaches ...

and volcanoes.

Yes, we are in America.

The weather was strange. At the beach and over the ocean it was always nice, and inland in the mountains there were always clouds.
