A Train and Float Plane Trip to Whistler
Kerstin's parents Uli and Regine are in town. We took a day off and caught the train to Whistler.
Somewhere close to Squamish.
Mount Garibaldi, later on we will get a better look at it.
Almost looks like in Switzerland.
We arrived in Whistler after 4 hours, it was quite the spetacular trip.
We went into town and took the gondola to the top, Regine and Uli in the line up.
On the top, the weather was perfect.
Olympia is coming closer.
There is a new gondola in Whistler so we went for a ride.
Later on in town, Kerstin found a good friend.
So how would we get back to Vancouver? Well, how about a float plane trip.
Uli bording the plane and getting ready for the take off.
Kerstin is exited.
Flying over Green Lake.
The Whistler Village and the ski runs.
We flew over the Garibaldi Park. We do a lot of hiking here so it was pretty cool to see all the places we have been to before. Here you can see Black Tusk.
Garibaldi Lake and Sphinx Hut, we stay here when we did the Neve in spring.
Before we got to the hut we skied down on this glacier, well, there was a bit more snow on.
During the Neve we stood on this bump, looks so different now.
Mount Garibaldi
Elfin Lakes Hut, that's where I clebrated my birthday a while ago.
Sky Pilot, we tried once to get up here but turned around after 8 hours of hiking uphill.
Back to Vancouver, North Van and the Second Narrows Bridge, Burnaby Mountain in the back.
The Seabus Terminal.
The new convention center in Vancouver, ready for the olympics.
The crew is back in Vancouver, safe and happy!
Thanks a lot Regine and Uli for this amazing trip.
