Marburg and Giessen

Visiting Marburg and Giessen

We visited Frauke in Marburg and Verena and Marc in Giessen. We didn't have a lot of time but it is quite the nice area.

Nice buildings in Germany. Marburg didn't get bombed during the 2nd world war like Offenbach and Frankfurt did; so there are many old buildings left.

I guess nobody would or could pay for something like this today.

The Fachwerk (timber truss) is actually part of the structural system.

View over Marburg. Can you see the leaning church tower? Engineers in Germany aren't that precise.

I really like this picture, a million roofs.

There is a small castle up on the other mountain., I forgot the name.

Pretty narrow alley.

Later on we went to Giessen where Verena and Marc live, nice area.
