Annadale State Park and San Francisco

Hank and his two sons, Winter and Duncan, showed us the local trails of the Annadale State Park. Pretty nice riding there, super flowy and fast.

Nice to go riding and have a view, I guess you can even ride here in winter.

And in the summer you can go for a swim.

Winter and Duncan, they are two pretty talented riders. Winter got a new Santa Cruz bike (I am a bit jealous, you will have a good time in Whistler with that thing), Duncan rides a 24" Big Hit, a bigger (more travel / more suspension) bike than my downhill / freeride bike. He must be strong to ride that uphill.

Actually Duncan and Winter took part at the Sea Otter in a 4 cross race. I think Duncan came 3rd out of 60 or so and Winter would have been top ten if he wouldn't have got a flat tire.

Group pic, Duncan, Winter, me and Kerstin.

Nice uphill trails through the forest.

I also made a bunch of movies but hadn't had a chance to look at them ...

Later on Hank and his family invited us to come over to their place. They build a pump track in the back yard, pretty cool. Mum, imagine I would have done that :-).

More of the pump track.

Berms ...

I want something like that in my backyard. They had also some North Shore stuff there. One thing was a 6' drop. I didn't try it since I have to travel a bit more, you can see the run in on the left / top of the picture.

Winter getting some massive air! Awesome dude.

Later on we continued our drive towards San Francisco. Just before we entered the city we came through the area where mountain biking was invented about, well, probably 30 years ago. Gary Fisher was one of the big dudes at the time. We didn't had time to check it out, Hank also said all the trails are closed now, too bad, so much history. We drove by this sign and I think that is where the Marin bikes are from but perhaps I am wrong.

And the Golden Gate Bridge.

We visited Mary Ann, a friend of Kerstin's dad. She made a lovely dinner for us and a fantastic breakfast the next morning, thanks Mary Ann.

We didn't spent much time in San Francisco since we visited the city about 3 years ago, Terrie and Paul were excellent city guides so we thought there is no need to explore it more.
