Soccer, driving, Hot Tub
Bad planning on my side. I knew it since a while but since I am not planning my vacation that well I screwed this up. Germany was playing their second game in the World Cup against Serbia. I thought we might be able to find a motel the night before but since everything was pretty packed (and expensive) we just parked on the side of the road. Luckily I could get a sports radio station on AM, I still don't understand how I could get it there because everywhere else in this country I can't listen to soccer. Anyway, I got up at 5 am to listen to the second half. It was already one nothing for Serbia and Germany was one man down, what the heck I thought. And then in the 60th minute Germany got a penalty. Just in that moment my soccer radio station changed to a church radio station (I had pretty bad reception in general) so I didn't hear it how he screwed it up. Anyway, Germany lost and I had a pretty bad morning.
After this shock I thought I need a decent breakfast.
Later on we continued our drive, again, the coast looked totally different within a few miles.
And then again, just on the side of the road, some elephant seals. How cute. I was wondering why we walked yesterday 3 hours but anyway, amazing animals and this time they were really close so I got some good shots.
They were playing / training again for the big day.
Too bad that picture comes without sound. While they where putting their nose / trunk up into the air they made funny noises, I guess to impress each other and the females, well, we all know that.
I guess everybody knows that, unfortunately we didn't see David Hasselhof (probably spelt wrong but I am not a fan of him like 30 million other germans, pretty sure Andrew can help me out here).
Since we were in Malibu I thought I go for a swim, perhaps somebody from Baywatch rescues me, perhaps Pamela Anderson.
Well, the lifeguard house wasn't occupied so nobody came to help me.
We thought we might get a new car. I thought perhaps we check out first EAST LA and see what we can find there, perhaps a Trabbi? I was also wondering while we were driving what the german auto industry, especially BMW, would do without California, haven't seen so many M3s.
After a two hour drive through LA (massive traffic jam) we arrived at Laurene's and Werner's place, they prepared an amazing BBQ for us, thank you!
That's where Laurene and Werner live, not too bad eh! I think we will hang out with you guys for a while.
After we had dinner, swam (not too sure if that is right, is past tense swim?) in the pool we went into the hot tub.
