The Heat is on ...
I think we woke up around 6 am, well, we never really slept since it was soooooooooo hot. I got up and parked the car in the shade so we wouldn't get completely boiled before breakfast.
Death Valley is not only hot it is also below sea level, 190 feet = 57 m.
It was around 8 am and it was already 38 degrees!
Our next stop was the big salt lake in the park, pretty amazing, I haven't seen something like that before.
Since the heat didn't bother Kerstin as much as it did to me she did some more exercise.
The heat forms those irregular patterns on the salt lake. There was a sign explaining it but I don't remember.
We continued our drive and came by that sign, I was hoping for a cool dip into a swimming pool or something like that but all what happened was a dip in the road.
The view back over the lake.
This place was called artist palette due to all those different colours.
We left Death Valley drove towards Las Vegas. Once we arrived there we got some food. The dessert:
We also had a look at all those slot machines and were wondering if we should help our travel budget.
Pretty crazy place, there is a roller coaster going through the whole hotel complex.
The famous MGM
They imitate everything there, pretty good job actually.
And the roller coaster even went through the hotel. We thought about going for a ride but 20 bucks was a bit steep. Especially since you weren't allowed to take your own camera, security reasons what they were saying. I think it is to make more money with selling those stupid pictures of yourself for again 20 bucks or so. Below is what they call Little Italy, I guess they haven't been in Italy otherwise they would know that houses aren't made of paper and plywood.
And out of the sudden we were in Paris, amazing, without paying any air faire.
The Belagio with the water show.
