Crystal Mountain
Nathan and the Lowen family invited us to visit them at their yearly Crystal Mountain get away. Crystal Mountain is a ski resort close to Mt. Rainier in Washington State. The first day Kerstin and I ski toured, we had a pretty good time. The second day we skied powder all day long inbounds (no pics, too much snow). We also spent a lot of time in the swimming pool with the Lowen family (around 25 people) after the skiing which was great.
Our apartment in Crystal :-). Actually Nathan and his family invited us a couple of times for dinner so we didn't had to spent the afternoons in the Van. The nights were actually pretty warm since we have our winter camping sleeping bags with us on the trip.
Here are some pics of our ski tour, Kerstin going up hill.
Still a bit more to go ...
... and along the ridge.
Kerstin going down.
Not bad snow for March.
Seppel
Oh yeah!
At the end of the day we had a snack at the ridge with an amazing view of Mt. Rainier and Crystal Mountain Ski Resort where we would ski tomorrow.
Final run down to the parking lot.
At the end of the day we thought we have a break on the chair lift which wasn't running. The view was pretty nice and so we got some food and the camera out of our bag pack. We were talking about what would happen if the chairlift would start to move. Well, we thought that would never happen but we were wrong. Suddenly the chairlift started to move and we jumped of. I run after the chair we were sitting on since there was still some stuff of us on the bench. Luckily I could throw everything down. I guess we learned a lesson. Funny so that we talked before about it.
There was also a note: This lift may start without notice. :-)
We had a great time in Crystal and we want to say to all of you:
Thank you Lowen Family!
