Sawtooth Mountain Range
We got up in the morning and drove along Highway 21, a pretty nice drive.
Out of the sudden we saw a sign for hot springs so we stopped ...
Sitting in hot springs and seeing snow in the mountains is kind of cool.
And that's where all the hot water comes from. The best thing about the hot springs was that they are for free.
We continued our drive and saw some of the peaks of the Sawtooth Range coming up.
At Banner Pass we stopped and talked to some people. They were saying that it would be only one and a half hour up to that peak. It was already 4pm but since sunset is now at 8pm we thought we give it a go.
Kerstin still going up to Copper Mountain, almost at the top so ...
At the top we got an amazing view. It took us about one hour forty, not too bad.
Those look like some mountains.
Well, I guess ski season or powder season is over. Slush season is on!
Kerstin putting in some nice lines.
The ski out had actually the best snow since there was no sun in the valley during the day.
Walk back to the car.
Later on we drove to Stanley, a really cool village (about 100 people) in the middle of nowhere. I think there is lots of potential for ski touring, perhaps one to two months earlier. Ski touring is still good but snow is not that amazing anymore. Well, can't complain, free hot springs and a nice day tour.
