Another day in Sydney downtown ...

Sydney is a big city and has much to offer, especially for engineers. Today we walked around some of the touristy areas, like the Fish market, shopping centres, and Hyde Park.

This is the Maritime Museum. Seppel went on a tour to see the submarine. I enjoyed the sun and waited outside.

This is where the torpedoes go in.

benz

This is not really a spot where anyone of us could relax. Submarines are so small and narrow that Seppel ended up hitting his head twice.

The kitchen of the submarine. The cook had to prepare food for 66 people in here.

The telescope.

And the engine room.

The deck of the submarine. Sydney downtown is in the back.

And the Sydney Tower. We didn't go up but the engineering is interesting. The ropes on the outside must be used for stability.

a

We also had a look into the Queen Elisabeth Building which is an old and nicely renovated building used as a fancy shopping mall nowadays.

The Sydney Tower once again from a bit closer.

We decided to have dinner at the International Food Festival which took place in Hyde park that night. It was super busy and hard to find a chair after buying food. but we found one.

a

We then walked to the Sydney Opera House. We had some tickets for the concert of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Kerstin's birthday present. For sure we took a picture of the bridge at night :)

We were waiting in the lobby for the concert to start.
