Byron Bay and the drive to Brisbane

We got up in the morning and since the campground was next to the beach we went for a swim before having breakfast.

Beach time!

The lighthouse at Byron Bay

The light from back in the day. I think it got replace in 1959 by a electric light. Before then it the light was powered by gas.

We walked around the lighthouse and could see some dolphins.

More dolphins and surfers.

We walked down to the beach so perhaps we would get a closer look at the dolphins.

We couldn't see them anymore so we continued the drive along the coast.

What we got to see was much better so ...

... some whales playing in the water!

Also saw a stranded whale but I think he got rescued.

We drove to Nick's house in Brisbane where he fired up the bbq and Mel and Victor came by, just like a Vancouver revival.
