Able Tasman Sea Kayaking
From Farewell Spit on the top of the South Island we drove a little bit south to go sea kayaking for two days. We loaded up the boats with our tents and food and got ready for departure. First we had to do a safety orientation, Kerstin and Naomi practicing on land how to kayak.
Since the beach is pretty flat they use tractors during low tide to get the kayaks out to the ocean.
Schiff Ahoi!
Beautiful beaches!
Our first lunch stop.
Aiming for the island, the map said there should be seals.
We checked out a little bay.
Lots of wildlife, this time some birds.
Me and my sister in the sea kayak, I had the commando and Judith moved us forward.
Some more wildlife called german tourists, they are almost native species in New Zealand. This is actually Thilo whom we met 2 days ago on the Ferry, quiet funny.
He hiked the whole track so he was happy to get a beer of us.
And finally we saw a seal.
Johannes, do you remember those pools, Cleopatra Pools, we hiked to them.
There is an amazing natural water slide.
next day, more sea kayaking in able tasman
