Avalanche Peak on Arthur's Pass

My flatmate James asked me if I wanted to go for a hike on the weekend. I had not done much hiking before and I didn't know what to expect. I bought some hiking boots and we drove to Arthur's Pass. This was about 8 years ago. It was my first proper hike. I remember I had a hard time since Avalanche Peak is pretty steep. Being back now in New Zealand I wanted to come back here. Malcolm came down from Wellington for the weekend and we had a fantastic time. Anyway, enough talking ...

Arthur's Pass is an amazing region, it is not that busy with tourist and the mountains are steep!

We were hiking through that big valley with my sister and Naomi about 2 weeks ago.

We stayed at the New Zealand Alpine Club hut which is right in the village and accessible by car, pretty cool.
