Mt. Aspiring National Park and Omaru Penguins
We left Lake Wanaka in the morning and drove into Mt. Aspiring National Park, what a beautiful country.
Have a closer look at the river, can you see something brown ... ?
... exactly, a cow is walking through this river. Quite amazing, just before this cow walked through a calve with its mum walked through. Those rivers are pretty strong and it is not that easy to cross them.
Mt. Aspiring covered in the clouds in the back.
We only did a short hike since we had to drive to Omaru later on. A long trip to Mt. Aspiring National Park is a must do for next visit to New Zealand.
We left the area and drove 4 hours east towards Omaru and the coast to see penguins but first we checked out the town.
Omaru is not only famous for its penguins but also for the white limestone.
The girls didn't understand the importance of this picture, I understand you Paul.
Later on at the beach ...
And here they are, yellow eyed penguins.
I need a better zoom lens (not only more zoom but also a better quality).
