Riding at the Teton Pass and Teton National Park
We came here in winter / spring to go ski touring, it was pretty good. Now all the snow is gone (almost) and it is time to shred dirt! My tooth wasn't too good but I thought I give it a go and since Kerstin dropped me off at the top (thanks!) I didn't have to ride too much up hill. Actually there is an amazing paved uphill bike path, pretty cool to have that for a pass which goes up to 8500' (2550 m). I would have biked up but ... . Anyway, I choose the downhill track, double black diamond, that what the map said, pretty hard on my hard tail with 2.1" tires but hey, lets shred!
Not too sure if you remember that picture, perhaps check out the picture below this one.
Looked a bit different in April.
On top of the pass looking down to Jackson standing at 9200', 2760 meters or so.
You can see the pass road which gives you amazing access to skiing in winter and riding in summer.
Another ride with alpine single trail, don't need to go to the Chillcotins
The downhill went from 9200' to about 6500', pretty wicked drop.
And that's what happens if you go on a downhill track with cross country tires.
The trail went along a ridge, pretty cool views I got to the left and right.
Here are some pictures of our skiing at Teton Pass back in April.
I met Kerstin at this bagel shop.
That's where we relaxed for a while.
Later on we drove north through the Teton National Park and saw some more wildlife.
Bison, or Buffalo? Still don't know the difference.
We camped at this lake. The Grand Tetons in the back, that's where we were hiking the last days.
On the campground we went to a campfire talk where a ranger gives a presentation about something special in the park. This time it was about wolves.
On the way back to our camp side the sun came out.
It is a lot cooler here than it was at Death Valley. We saw actually in a newspaper that it was 121° F the other day there, insane. That is around 50° C. Good that we are not there anymore.
