Teton Pass on Easter Sunday

Well, Teton Pass is a nice place to ski tour. Perhaps it was only because we had really good snow and so far we weren't that lucky on our trip. Perhaps it is because it is Easter and we always have good snow. Perhaps it is because TGR is from this area. But perhaps it is just SICK^RAD. Teton Pass as the name sais is in the Teton Range. The Pass is at around 2400 m or so and you can drive to the top, it is always plowed since it is a major link between Jackson Hole, the West and Salt Lake City. It is similar to Rogers Pass in BC but every meter you climb you can ski down. I think it is better than Rogers Pass where you still have an approach of 30 min. to one hour. Compared to the coast where you have to bushwhack for 3 hours it is amazing. And as I mentioned a storm just went through so the snow was pretty good. I think there was about 1 meter of fresh snow within the last week and it was cold enough that there was no crust. Enough talking, enjoy the shredding.

Looks like they got a bit of snow ...

Before we had to skin up we got our first runs in.

Even so there were about 25 cars parked at the pass there was enough terrain for everybody.

Some art. Have to get better with the camera. I thought you see those intense green colours only on the coast. Seems like I am wrong.

We also had to skin up but we didn't have to break trail which was good.

Almost at the top. On the right you can see the bowl we ski later on.

It almost looks like a tele skier, kind of strange. I promise I didn't buy more gear...

Not too sure if you can call that a face shot but not too bad for Easter.

Almost too much snow?

Kerstin getting ready for the second lap, pretty excited.

Again Kerstin in the bowl. On the other side you can see the road, the s-curved line, the pass is on the right. A lot of people drive to the pass, boot pack up the hill, ski down and get a ride back up.

We skied pretty much half way between Jackson and Victor.

As you can see there were a few people (or tracks) but it was at no point tracked out. Not bad considering that there were 25 cars times 3 people each = 75 people.

Shedding continues.

I think someone was looking for Easter Eggs, not too sure if she found any.

Yes, she did!
